About
Thinkspace Architecture® Planning Interior Design Ltd. is a client-focused design practice comprised of talented architects, planners, interior designers, and technical staff – supported by a strong administrative team – who are experts in solving complex challenges and taking advantage of unique opportunities. We have been providing professional architectural services since 1963.
Our highly collaborative teams – located in studios in Surrey, Kelowna, and Edmonton – work with clients across British Columbia and Alberta, as well as the western US, in the K-12 education, post-secondary education, health care, civic, and commercial sectors.
We are committed to design excellence and approach our work with a common set of values: curiosity, collaboration, commitment, a strong client focus, and accountability. These shared values shape the ways that we rise to the challenges and opportunities of each new project.
Why EOS
Thinkspace has implemented EOS since 2017 and is continuously improving this. Thinkspace is one of the few midsize Architectural offices in (West) Canada running on it. EOS has meant financial stability for us, including a higher revenue and profit. Besides that the quality of our processes are much better and it is easier to react to developments, opportunities and threats, and with that we are much better capable of delivering a higher quality products and service to our clients with less risks for them and for us.
Having a vison, a 3 year plan and 1 year objectives has turned out to be a great way of directing our focus and communicating with our staff where we are going and why we make certain decisions. We have a low staff turn over and are able to offer our staff a healthy, safe and motivational work environment.
Our Core Values
Client-Focused
We ask, and we listen. We don’t tell. We communicate and stay connected with our clients. We have too much respect for their perspective not to – it’s the key to design that enhances the human condition.
Curious
Assumptions and preconceived ideas starve curiosity. That’s not the Thinkspace way. We ask questions, like “what if…”, and we explore the improbable. We are patient – a better solution will emerge if we stay open to the possible.
Committed
There are no shortcuts to great work. It requires our everything – focus, energy, and passion. Each of us must commit to great work – for ourselves, and for one another. And to doing what’s right, not what’s easy.
Collaborative
We all view the world from our own, unique vantage point – informed by life’s experiences. When we collaborate with clients, builders, consultants, and each other, we harness something of incredible value that only the individual can provide. Nothing could be more important to creating spaces that enrich the human experience than respecting the thoughts of every person willing to share their perspective.
Accountable
To do great work, we must work as a team. A team that holds each other accountable in pursuit of a common objective. Being accountable simply means that we deliver upon our commitments. No matter what!
